Q: Where is the oil dipstick on a 1993 Lexus GS 300 engine?
My husband bought me a 1993 Lexus GS 300 and we have been working on it to get it driveable, but can't find the oil dipstick. We've located the transmission fluid dipstick, but cannot find the oil dipstick. If it's one that's on the inside of the oil cap we'll have to replace it.
A: Under the hood...(sorry couldn't resist)
Q: Why my steering wheel whobles on my lexus gs 300?
I have 1995 lexus gs 300, When ever i drive my and start stoping slowely my steering wheel starts to whobble a little but if i brake rappedly its fine, does anyone know what the problem might be?
A: You could have one of two problems. One is a crooked belt in front tire(very common). Two is warped front rotors. Here is how to find out which. For a crooked belt, drive the car on a smooth surface at around 20-30 MPH. Observe the steering wheel. If it has a slight wiggle from side to side, you have a front tire with a crooked belt. For a warped rotor, the whole front end should shake when you and only when you apply the brakes.
Q: What Modifications will i have to do to my 95 lexus gs 300 to fit 24" rims. and how much will it roughly cost?
yea like the question said i was wonderin what mods i would have to do to fit 24" rims on my 95 lexus gs 300. and roughly how much will it cost?
thanks
A: You would half to put really short side wall tires on the rimes and put bigger breaks on it. on the other hand every time you hit a pot hole you'll bend a rime
Q: how much to reupholster leather seats on a 99 lexus gs 300?
k i have a lexus gs 300, and i want the front seats upholster, they have cracks and stuff, and the middle compartment is also leather and have some worn down leather too. the back seats are fine, what is a good estimate on having 2 seats and a small center console redone =)
A: I love you spamme... you're such a hater, keep it up I love reading your comments.
Depending on the shop and what kind of materials they use, the price would vary. You can get it done under $1000 if you have some kind of connection or a dealer discount, but some range to over $2k if you pay full price. That's for a full interior including the rear seats. just the front would be cheaper.
Honestly though, go to http://www.leatherseats.com and ask them about the GS300.
They have a great relationship with Club Lexus and often offer group buys for seat covers that you can have a shop install to look like factory brand new again. Just go to club lexus, register and wait for a group buy, or you can just buy now just tell em your from CL! good luck.
Q: How long does the Lexus GS 300 series last?
I want to buy a used Lexus GS300 car, typically looking at the older models (before 2005). Does anyone know how much mileage can I get out of it until it dies out, with all other maintenance done periodically? Also does the car still drive smoothly with no motor noise past 100K? Any specific year I should look for? I want to spend under 10K Thanks!!!
A: Good question. The answer depends on how the car has been serviced. The 3 liter engine was used in many cars and they are really solid engines. This is why you see many of them on the road still and so many still being sold used. You need to be careful. Yes, Lexus are known to be relatively problem free and can easily run 200k plus, but it has to be properly serviced too. All of the major services needs to be done and only use factory parts. Try to stay away from those that have after market parts. The best way is to have a Lexus dealership look at the car. Just like any car, they need major services and parts will need to be replaced. Yes, I've seen owners that say that they only had to change the oil and it keeps running. It is possible, but I would not do that. Keeping the car up-to-date will ensure that you will get that 100k to 200k easy. The key is to get the servicing done by a good shop and insist on only factory parts. If they try to talk you into saving in buying an after market part, go to another shop. If you want to keep the car in the road for 200k plus, get it done right.
I hope this helps.

Q: I am looking for a chrome lexus Gs 300 liscense plate frame. Does anyone know where i might be able to findone
Ive already checked ebay, and amazon, and a few other websites, but they all dont have what im searching for. Can anyone recommend me a good website that might carry it in stock?
A: Your best bet would be a dealer.
Q: Does anyone know the correct way to bypass a lexus gs 300 factory amplifier having major problems?
I tried bypassing it but all i seem to get is a lot of poppping and whining sounds along with the music. I cant figure out why it is making this sound
A: If you still have the factory radio in the vehicle, you cannot simply bypass it. The factory radio has no internal amplification. IF you want to bypass the factory amplifier, you will need to start by replacing the factory radio (BIG $$$ due to the labor involved) and re-wire all of the speakers (you can grab the speaker leads at the amplifier).
Good luck and I recommend you do NOT try and do this yourself - take it to a professional.

Q: 1995 Lexus GS 300 fog lights not working, could be wiring but i dont know.?
Well i took my 95 lexus gs 300 to a mechanic to get some engine work done, and when i got it back the engine was fixed but the bottom fog lights were not working. and i took em out to see if they were burned, but they were fine. so i checked the fuse, and it was good. now im thinking its the wiring. but maybe someone has another idea of what it could be. or if they think its wiring, do you happen to have a diagram or something where i can see the wiring and check it. Im not very good with wiring. thanks, any help would be good. if all else fails ill take it to another mechanic, hopefully i wont get it back with another thing broken.
A: If it was working before you took it to the mechanic, tell him to fix it. If the fuse and lights are good, he/she must have cut the wires somewhere which you can't see.

Q: What are the good and bad pts about Mercedes E320? How does it compare to Lexus GS 300-400?
I dont want ppl to respond with "Just get a Lexus"
" Dont spend ur $$ on cars"
I want to know detials like, E320 will break down or its a gas guzzler or Lexus has better performance....
A: I have an E320 with 4 matic wagon. Good points are that it's a big, comfortable car, with a lot of class. It's also the only car that's this big inside without being a monster on the outside, and it's very light (3700 lbs) for it's size. I've owned it since it was new in 1999. It's never had anything that I would consider a major problem, like an engine or transmission issue. Fuel consumption is good for a big car: 23 MPG (US) for average driving, up to 26 on the highway.
But it's had an endless list of small problems, most of which were surprisingly expensive to fix. Fortunately, I bought the extended warranty, but now that I'm done with that, the cost is mounting fast. For example, last month it burned a side view mirror. You can't make this stuff up...it literally burned, due to a shorted electric adjustment motor. Cost to replace was more than $400. The other side had gone a few months earlier, and was replaced while still under warranty. The starter simply died one day, and it took the dealer two days to repair. This was due to all the stuff that has to be removed in order to get access. If not for the warranty, it would have been a $1500 repair. I've had bad tie rods, a bad alternator, and I've replaced the seat controllers twice. The outside temperature display has been malfunctioning for months, but I choose to ignore it rather than pay the expected high price of fixing it. I've had leakage in the A/C system, which involved replacing a bunch of expensive stuff under warranty. The AM radio has never worked right, apparently that's a problem with all the E320's. Threre were a lot of similar problems. As you can see, nothing that you would call fatal, but expensive little issues that really blunt the joy of ownership. It's a difficult car to work on, so for much of this, you're stuck with dealer service. Repairs always seem to end up in the four figure range. If it was mine to do over, I would have bought a Lexus or Infinity.
