Q: mazda rx7?
i've been searching for a dealership that sells rx7's, but i've only found rx-8's.
does anyone know where i can get a new rx7?
do they sell them at mazda dealerships?
thanks[:
A: from Edmunds..
Though Mazda is currently producing a rotary-powered successor, the four-seat RX-8, many enthusiasts are still hoping the company will bring out an all-new RX-7. Though rumors have floated about, no official plans have been announced.
Q: What do I need to do to swap a 1987 Mazda RX7 with a 3rd Gen RX7 engine?
I own a 1987 Mazda RX7 and bought the 3rd Gen 13BTT engine to drop into it. Has anyone done this yet that can give me some tips on what will have to be done to accomidate the new engine. I do have both the engine and tranny and some parts other than that that are ready to be dropped in but still trying to work out with the 87 body.
A: oh man they make
mazada frankenstein cars too
not just b16s and hondas anymore
Q: What American engines fit in a 1987 Mazda Rx7?
I just bought a 1987 Mazda rx7 non turbo 5 speed 2 door coupe. I want to swap the rotory motor out. I know a chevy 350 will fit. But I would like to know what other engines would fit with out super modification. I would Love to go mopar ,But all other options are on the table.-
A: the 3.5L Mopar fits in there really well. It's fuel injected and kicks out 240 HP. there are a lot of them sitting in wrecking yards as they where used a lot of the concords, and intrepid. shouldn't require too many modifications. Mostly changing the motor mounts and fuel lines. re routing the heater and radiator hoses. A friend of mine did this swap 4 years ago on his 86 RX. thing runs like a raped ape now. I would also look in to the Buick 300 V8. It's a very small block v8 (About the size of a 4.2L V6 engine) they produce around 300 HP and still give you that V8 sound. not sure what you would have to modify for that. Most likely suspension, radiator and you may need to notch the fire wall a bit. you could also look at a Mazda V6 engine to put in there. probably a cleaner swap then anything else. Hope this helps and good luck.
Q: I am looking to buy a 1987 Mazda RX7 Turbo II. Does anyone know of any problems these cars had?
I am looking to buy a 1987 Mazda RX7 Turbo II. Does anyone know of any problems these cars had? I am not talking about normal wear and tear though. I would like to know if the rotary motor had any special problems.
A: RX7 is a good car.... if they have not been in storage for a long time. the apex seals tend to "dry up" when left unused for long period's of time...(months at a time) this is the #1 problem with this engine. Other concerns that you might run in to depends on where you live.. I.E. California or some other major city that has smog check. The rotary motor by nature does not burn clean. and they are $$$$$$ to overhaul to bring them back in to federal emissions requirements
Q: what car should i go with nissan 240sx or mazda rx7?
what kind of car should i go with i would like a 91 nissan 240sx because they look nice and there a fun car to drive.but on the other hand my friend is selling a 1988 rx7 1.3 rotary motor which i have no idea what that is but my question is which car would be better a nissan 240sx or a rx7.and also the rx7 my friend is selling is convertible.
A: Nissan 240 will be easier to tune it for street racing and the parts are easy to find and not expensive
but the Rx7 is just as tunable and will make a good car but you can't work in it as easily as the Nissan.
it sounds like you may not know a lot about engines, that's why I say go with the 240 its less complicated motor a 4 cylinder.
The Rx7s re good but they can be tricky to tune up. you gotta know how that Rotary engine works and performs.

Q: How much would a original 1987 Mazda RX7 GXL with 23,800 original miles, sunroof, 5 sp worth?
It is red with leather interior, even has the original tires which may not be road worthy simply due to age. No rust and overall excellent condition
Most sites do not seem to take into account the low mileage and actual condition of the vehicle. The vehicle also has the leather interior, runs perfect aside from the ac not working. It even has the original tires on it and has always been garaged only taken out on nice days. No leaks and the only new parts are the plugs and battery.
A: Kelly Blue Book is your best friend.
Q: Why do i have a hard time turning on my Mazda Rx7 1988?
Do you think i need to replace the seal, or what do you recomend?
I have to jump it to start it, but i know it is not the alternator because it is one year old, or the battery because is new, but i keeps messing up the battery, but it has warranty so i change alot. I just know the basics about rotary engines
A: Well you don't say much on why you have a hard time turning it on. It could be a number of things be more specific on whats wrong to get better answers. As for my answer it could be a battery prob it could be an alternater prob spark plug prob or a seal prob maybe more detail is needed to answer properly
Q: Where in east massachusetts can i find a mazda rx7 in good condition?
Also where can i find the body kit used on hans car in fast and furious tokyo drift? the black and orange one.
A: look at autotrader.com and put in your zip code. U can find almost any car this way
Q: What is the estimated engine life of a 1988 Mazda RX7?
am going to buy a car and the engine have 188,000 Miles.
is too mach miles?
A: If taken care of, 150k to 200k is about right. You're right in the middle of that range with the car you're talking about.
Q: How Much Does A Mazda RX7 Turbo II Go For?
I was wondering because there is one sitting in a Apartment complex rotting and would not like just rotting there. I would like to get my hands on it before someone hauls it off. I was planning to put a note beneath the windshield wiper with an offer but what would that offer have 2 be? please someone help. and are these cars Rare?
A: Unless someone rebadged the car they only had the turbo II badge from 86-88. These are not as expensive as the 93-95 RX7s which go for around $15 in good condition. I would say $5 for a car in decent condition which runs. $8 for a clean car in good condition. Knowing the engine, I would think that if it is sitting, it is not working. In that case, it going to cost more to get it running than it is worth.
Q: Is Nos and a turbo on a Mazda Rx7 twin turbo bad or good? Or should i start on a new engine with aftermarket?
I have hear that two high of a shot can do a cost to your engine? If good what is a good size bottle ? i am get nos any way but i need to know a good size bottle i what a good size? i have about $30,000 for aftermarket Parts after i get my car....name some good parts?
A: with a turbo you can add wet nos kit but it really depends on what all you do to the engine
I would start looking for forums the Rx series has a fairly large following online
as for parts start with the basics
hksusa.com
greddy.com
there are tons and tons of variations of items that you can purchase all with different setups IE: more Hp, Torque, reliabiltiy
the key is, is to find out what you want your car to look like and what you really plan to do with it
weather is just crusin around to going to car shows to street racing to drifting there are all differnt mods that you can do to acheive the required effect
Q: what do u think about an 89 mazda rx7 convertible?
looked on auto trader to see what kind of cars were in its class as far as convertibles go. Cars that were in its class were cadillac allantes, mustangs, firebird, and 325 bmw
would you consider this a car that has a high chance of being stolen or tampered with,? or would you not worry and park it any old where anytime.
A: Any rotary-engined covertible is going to attract the interest of those with evil in their hearts and mind. Thank something secular that Honda never made a convertible Civic or Integra! Also, I hope you do know they're fuel hungry and a bit harder to maintain than many other cars.
Q: Is there someone out there who has a toyota Prius that wants to trade it for a beautiful 1993 Mazda RX7?
We have restored with new body kit, RED, an RX7 twin turbo rotary and it is fabulous. We are finished with the project and want to buy a Prius. we can be emailed at: jillgoode@gmail.com
A: I think you will have far better luck selling the RX7 and then purchasing a used Prius as 2 separate transactions. I doubt the odds are in your favor that a Prius owner getting 40+ is going to trade for a car that gets 20(?) mpg.
Q: What additional changes do I need to make to have my 1986 Mazda RX7 pass the Texas Emissions Test?
I have completely replaced the exhaust system, including a new catelytic converter. Also the engine has had a major tuneup by a Mazda Service Dept.
A: If you read the emissions paper they tell which areas failed. They normally give you a booklet that will tell you what to change out. Normally the EGR system is not working. Then look at your 0-2 sensor. Keep receipts for all parts and repairs done. Normally they will give you a waver after $300.00 is spent. Check with the emissions people to be sure.
